LIMITED MODIFIED RULES

 

CAR REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS

Frame must be mid size metric frame only with 107" minimum and 109" maximum wheelbase. Year model of frame will be 1978-1987. No shortening or lengthening of frames allowed. All suspension mounts must remain unaltered. [ Exceptions would be under suspension rules].

WEIGHT:

A. 2300 pounds minimum with driver when car comes off of race track or at time of tech. Adding of any fluids will not   be allowed. Bumpers, nerf bars, tires, wheels, or body panels knocked off during race can be laid on car at time of weigh-in. If you loose bolt on or weld on weights on race track you will be disqualified. Make sure your weights are secure.

CARBURETORS:

A.  Two barrel  #4412 or # 0-80583-1 or 4 barrel Quadrajet only. Numbers must be on carburetors.

B.   Cannot remove air horn or extend bowls in any manner. Choke plate can be removed. Racing floats allowed. Holleys must have holley metering plates and bowls.

C.   Adapters or spacer plates are allowed but must not exceed 1 1/2 inches including gaskets.

D.   No by-pass systems or anything similar allowed. No fuel logs. No dial-a-jets of any kind.

E.   Any brand air cleaner ok. Any brand fuel filter ok.

ENGINE:

A. Chevrolet, Mopar or FoMoCo V-8's only. GM V6 okay. 4.3 or smaller blocks only.

B. No after market or side bolt main blocks or cranks allowed. No aluminum blocks allowed.

C. OEM blocks only and casting #'s must be present. Blocks may be zero decked maximum. Oil restrictors ok. [Hint: This means blocks can only come out of factory cars and trucks.]

D. No 400 small blocks or cranks allowed.

E. No big blocks or big block cranks allowed.

F. No hemi's . V-6's must be semi odd or even fire only.

G. 370 cubic inch maximum on Mopar, 369 cubic inch maximum for Chevrolet, and 364  cubic inch maximum for ford.

V-6's will be 280 cubic inch and will not have a compression rule. NO STROKING OR DE-STROKING ALLOWED!!!

H. No tolerance on cubic inch. Cubic inch can be checked by pump even on protest.

I. Compression may not exceed 180 pounds per cylinder. Compression will be checked with throttle on carburetor open. All spark plugs must be removed. Motor will be turned over 4-6 revolutions maximum. If you are over 180 YOU ARE ILLEGAL!!! PERIOD!!!

J. Flat top or soup dish pistons only. No floating of rods on pistons. No gas porting of pistons allowed. No forged pistons.

K. No lightening of cranks, rods or pistons. No polishing of rods. Chevrolet 5.7 rods maximum and 3/8' maximum on rod bolts, including V-6's. No  aluminum, H beam or titanium etc.

L. Balancing ok but will not be an excuse for lightening of parts.

M. No cutting of counterweights on crankshafts. 3.48 maximum stroke for Chevrolet.

N. No splayed main caps. No aftermarket main caps. No girdles on main caps.

O. No O-ringing of blocks or heads. Motors must run in OEM rotation only.

P. Pushrods may be any length, steel only.

Q. OEM cranks only, cast or steel. Stock OEM type rods and stock OEM crankshafts only for motor used. Crank journals may be turned. Chevy to Chevy, Ford to Ford, Mopar to Mopar. [ Hint: What this means is if you are running a Chevrolet it must be a Chevrolet crank OEM casting #'s must be on the crank]. Rods: must be press fit, stock appearing I-beam. Must not have nuts and bolts larger than 3/8". Rod caps must slide over bolts and attach with nuts. No polishing. [Hint: This will save you money.]

R: Rod bolts, main bolts may be aftermarket. Studs ok. Fluid dampner harmonic balancers are allowed. No roller bearings allowed in motor.

S: Stock OEM cast iron or stock OEM aluminum intakes only. [Hint: 305 Chevrolet from 1978-1987 had these intakes.] No marine,Bowtie,Z-28 hi-performance GM or Mopar aftermarket allowed. No tall or hi-rise intakes of  any kind. Ford may use aftermarket but may not have air under intake or hi-rise.

T. Stock OEM cast or OEM aluminum water pumps only. Must be mechanically belt driven. Grinding on pumps is illegal, No aftermarket.

U. Stock or circle track pans allowed. No dry sumps. Oil filter must mount and remain stock on block. No accu-sumps. No oil coolers except transmission. No windage tray except Mopar.

V. Power steering ok. Must mount in front of block and be mechanically belt driven. Steel pumps ok. External reservoirs ok.

W. Engine mounts may be aftermarket. Engine mid plate is allowed. May be aluminum. After market starters ok, must mount in front of bellhousing.

X. No Brazinski parts, acid dipping, porting, polishing, or anything similar. Exception: Valley of block may be polished. Powdered Chevrolet rods ok, but cannot be polished beyond normal. Decking blocks, sleeving blocks [3 cylinders maximum], align boring blocks ok. No after market main caps. Polydyne coating or similar allowed.

CAMS

A. Hydraulic cams only. Cams must pull 10" of vacuum at 1200 rpm. There may not be any adjustments to carburetor or timing at time of tech. [Hint: 2 barrel carburetors seem to pull better vacuum and are smoother and more constant.] If you bounce under 10" of vacuum you are illegal, absolutely no tolerance. Mechanical failure will be considered. Carburetor will not be an excuse. Tech call is final.

B. Must have vacuum fitting in intake to check vacuum. No fitting can be reason for disqualification.

C. Hydraulic lifters only. If you have more than .004 thousandths lash on adjustment on rocker you are illegal. No roller lifters or cams allowed. We will allow up to five rockers backing off. [Hint: This will be checked with motor running.]

D: Up to 5 bronze bushings will be allowed for lifter bore repair. You may use valley pan to hold lifters in.

E. No gear drives or belt drives on cams.

F. No solid lift or mushroom cams or lifters. No off-fire camshafts or similar.  

G. Any device used to beat the vacuum rule such as altered fitting, pumps, cans, or fuel additives will be instant disqualification!!!

H. Hint: We have found through research that vacuum readings will change with timing, humidity, richness of carburetor, weather, duration, temperature of engine, fuel and etc. We have taken all of this into consideration and there will be no excuses on vacuum.

I. If your car does not start for tech you will be disqualified. [Hint: You will be given time to replace the starter or jump start. No push starts.]

WARNING

Track gauges are final for tech. We have allowed you room for error in gauges. If you try and build on the borderline you could get disqualified. Leave yourself room for error. We already have.

HEADS GENERAL

A. Screw in studs and guide plates allowed.

B. Stud girdles will be allowed if the bosses on the heads have been cut and you are using pressed in studs or pinned studs. You cannot use a girdle with screw in studs. [Hint: Using the girdles will save you a lot of money on machine work.]

C. No angle milling. Flat milling ok. Bronze guides ok.

D. Poly locks are allowed. Splash covers above rocker arms ok.

E You cannot have studs larger than 3/8" inch in your heads for rocker arms. No 7/16" studs or rockers. No adapters on studs allowed.

F. Heads may be cut 360 degrees under the valves in bowl area only.

G. Multi angle valve jobs are legal.

H. No exotic rocker arm assemblies such as jessel allowed.

I. Carbon fiber, aluminum, titanium or any lightweight components will be illegal.

J. Any ratio stock type rocker arms ok. No type of roller tip or roller rocker arms allowed. Chevrolet can use Ford rockers and vice versa. Mopar can use rocker arm shafts as long as they are OEM stock. No roller tips of any kind.

K. No hollowed valves. No alterations to heads except those in the rules.

L. Aluminum or steel valve covers ok. Breathers may be mounted at your discretion. [Hint: Short valve covers will keep your rocker arm assemblies better oiled saving malfunctions.]

M. No brazinski or any type of porting allowed to intake or heads. Acid dipping polishing or porting is illegal.

N. Valve springs must be stock diameter for heads used. Do not cut heads for larger springs.

O. If you are caught altering casting numbers you will be fined $1000.00 and lose your license for 1 year. [ Hint: This is for heads,  blocks, intakes and cranks.

CHEVROLET HEADS

A. All these casting numbers can be used: 185, 267, 336, 339, 339x, 369, 388, 393, 441, 445, 487, 487x, 493, 454, 598, 624, 642, 862, 881, 882, 920, 991,993, 997. These are the last 3 digits and they are the only ones legal. Cast iron heads only. [Hint: There is very little difference in any of these heads. These heads are straight plug open chamber heads.]

B. These heads are OEM open chambered heads and if we find someone trying to alter head numbers they will be disqualified. If you find a hi-performance or after market head with any of these numbers it would be declared illegal. If you stay within the spirit of the rules you will not have any problems.

C. Heads must have 1.94 intake valves and 1.50 exhaust valves or smaller. Smog clips may be removed in exhaust ports.  No vortec or throttle body heads even if numbers matched (Except V-6's)

D. Headers listed for Chevrolet must fit. No pacers or adapters allowed

GM V-6 HEADS

A. OEM cast iron heads only. No after market of any kind

B. 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust valves maximum.

C. Headers listed are the only headers allowed. No adaptors for headers allowed. No spacers.

MOPAR HEADS

A. OEM cast iron heads only. No after-market heads of any kind.

B. 2.04 intake and 1.70 exhaust valves maximum. No hemi heads.

C Shaft rocker arm assemblies are okay as long as they are OEM. No roller tips.

D. HEaders listed for Mopar must fit. No adapters for headers allowed. No spacers

FORD HEADS

A. OEM cast iron heads only. No SVO. Maximum of 2.04 intake and 1.70 exhaust valves. No Boss or after-market heads allowed

B. Headers listed for Ford must fit. No adapters for headers allowed. No spacers

ENGINE LOCATION

A. Back of entire flange must be mounted at a minimum of 70" forward of the centerline of the rear axle. This will be measured on the passenger side of the car. v-6's must be a minimum of 72"

B. Minimum engine height is 11" from the ground to the center of the crankshaft. This will be measured on the front of the crank shaft/pulley.

C. Motor must mount towards center of frame. Anything considered excessive offset will be disqualified. (anything more than 2 inches would be excessive)

IGNITION

A. All cars must have ignition switch clearly labeled.

B. Ignition switch must be located within reach when standing outside the car (easily accessible to emergency personnel.)

C. Stock or stock style ignition only. Ford may use Motorcraft or FoMoCo, including box. Mopar may use Mopar, including box. HEI legal on Ford or Mopar   

D. HEI must remain in one unit, no external coils allowed, unless you are using dual or single point distributor. No stutter boxes.

E. MSD or any module may be used as long as it fits inside the distributor with no alternation. Vacuum advance may be removed and the pick-up coil locked.

F. MSD, any brand, or GM electronic boxes are NOT allowed.. No magnetos. After-market starter okay.

G. Firing order on distributor cap must run in STOCK order. No remote adjustments for timing through drivers compartment allowed.

BATTERY

Only one 12 volt battery is allowed. Must be securely mounted. Subject to tech inspection. Battery may be charged by an alternator mounted in front of the motor. No battery larger than 12 volts allowed.

RADIATOR

Only one radiator is allowed. It may  be aluminum. Radiator must be mounted in front of engine. Maximum size 27" x 19". Racing radiator cap is allowed. May not have water outlets to spray on radiator. Catch cans required. Pulleys on alternator, water pump, power steering and harmonic balancer can be reduction type. Aluminum ok. Serpentine or v-belt ok.

EXHAUST SYSTEMS

Headers must be Schoenfeld: GM= 16100 or #15100, 1 5/8 tubes with 3" collector. Mopar- 46100, #461w2, 462w2. Ford-36100, 36200, 56200, 563-4B, 562-4B. GM V6 #8361. No modification to headers except collectors to accommodate headers only. No turn outs. Please check with track for muffler rules. Chroming ok. Turndowns on chassis headers ok but must not be extended. [ This means blowing dirt.]

FUEL

Gasoline only. No oxygenating or other performance enhancers. No alcohol or nitrous. [Hint: Dynos have proven that the lower octane fuel runs better in motors with lower horsepower.]

FUEL PUMP

No electric fuel pumps. Only stock mount pushrod activated Holley or Carter style allowed. No bypass fuel systems, pressurized, or return lines allowed. No regulators of any type.

FUEL CELL

A. Maximum 22 gallon fuel cell.

B. Fuel cell with a rollover valve is required. Must be securely mounted inside trunk area only. [Hint: This means behind rear housing.] Must be between frame rails and must be totally enclosed from the drivers compartment. A minimum of two fuel cell straps is required to mount fuel cell.

C. Fuel cell protection bar is required. Must be a minimum of 1 - 1/2" X .095". It must protect the fuel cell from the rear. It must be as low as the fuel cell, and extend from side to side as wide as the fuel cell. It is recommended that this bar be attached to the frame, not the bumper. If the fuel cell protection bar is not present, the car will not be allowed to continue running. For 2006 fuel cells will have to be mounted in a can. It is strongly recommended now!!

DRIVE TRAIN:

TRANSMISSION

A. Any OEM automatic transmission is allowed. Must have a working torque converter, minimum of 10". No direct drives, couplers, valved pump, or bleeder style valve bodies. Automatics must have at least one forward gear, and reverse gear must be in working order. Ford may use GM or Ford automatic. Mopar may use GM or Mopar.

B. Standard  transmission must be stock with all gears in working order, with minimum of 10.5" clutch pressure plate, and steel flywheel. No mini-clutches. May not use a aluminum flywheel. Ford clutch is 9" minimum.

C. All standards must have bell housing made of 1/4" inch thick steel of cast iron and cover 180 degrees over the side and top of the clutch assembly. Slave cylinders or hydraulic throw-out bearing okay.

D. 3,4, or 5 speed manual transmissions only. OEM only. No Bert or Brinn type transmissions allowed.

E. No  ram ocupiers.

F. Quick-change transmission or transmission asaptors for gear changes are not allowed.

G. Car must be self-starting and have working neutral, reverse, and forward.

H. Transmission fluid coolers are allowed.

I. No aluminum converters. Flywheels and converters can be checked by moving car forward and backwards to check stall.

J. Cars MUST idle in all gears.

K. Converter with fluid and starter-ring must weigh 25 pounds minimum. Must be steel. Cannot add fluid.

L. Flywheel, clutch and pressure plate must weigh 25 pounds minimum. Must be steel.

M. Transmissions and bellhousing must bolt directly to back of blocks. Motor plate allowed.

DRIVESHAFT:

Drive shafts must be steel and must be painted white, silver or fluorescent orange. Must have steel drive shaft loop (360 degree) connected to the frame located within 8" of the front drive shaft u-joint. Minimum size is 2" x 1/8".

REAR ENDS:

A. Rear end housing must be stock 7.5" GM 10 bolt. Bracing optional. Snouts on end of 7.5" rear end can be modified to accept 9" Ford axle. Stock mounts on lower trailing arms must remain in stock location on original 7.5" tube housing. No 3" inch tube from center section out to mounts on trailing arms. After-market axles, studs, and mini-spools are allowed. No posi-trac, limited slip style rear ends. Rear end axles must be locked together at all times. C-clip eliminators are allowed. Cups (steel) may be placed on housing for springs only.

B. Maximum gear ratio will be 4:36. Nothing lower.

C. Bolt pattern on the axle/drums may be changed. Pinion angle  may not be altered. No full spools, Gold Track, or aluminum spools of any kind! Stock width unless using Ford axles. If Ford axles are used, rear end must not be narrower than stock. Axles must be equal length. Maximum length of axles is 29".

  D. FLYING AXLES-- THERE ARE MANY WAYS TO CORRECT THIS. OPTION 1) C-CLIP ELIMINATOR. 2) OR DISC BRAKES. 3) OR OTHER INTERIOR DEVICES. ONE OF THE ABOVE IS MANDATORY!!

E. No floater rear ends of any type. No 9" Ford or 8.5" rear ends allowed. 7.5" only!!

F. No gun-drilled axles. No rolling of rear ends.

G. (Hint: Some S-10's come with 28 spline axles and carriers. You can get equal strength of 9" Ford axles and save money.)

BRAKES:

A. Single or dual master cylinder after-market brake pedal is allowed. Adjuster okay within driver's reach Third cylinder for clutch assembly okay. Extra pedal for clutch only.

B. Rear brakes must be drum (stock OEM aluminum okay), or disc up to 12" disc brakes. Steel only! Hats and rotors are legal on rear ends ONLY! Hats must be steel. No single phase rotors allowed. No tulip rotors or anything similar. (Hint: Aluminum brake drums can save you money over disc. They are lighter and will save unsprung weight.)

C. A proportioning valve may be used, but must be installed out of the driver's reach. No fluid controlled valve of any type within reach of the driver, unless you are running a single master cylinder. If you have dual cylinders you can only run your hand crank adjuster. No fluid control shut-off valves for dual cylinders. (Hint: This will save you money, since you won't need dual master cylinders

D. Minimum of three working brakes is required. If using three brakes, the fourth brake components need not be present. Spindle must remain unaltered. (The only brake you can remove is the right front. Removing rotor off hub okay.)

E. Cooling holes may not be drilled in any brake components.

F. Brake calipers must be OEM. Steel only.

STEERING:

A. Quick release steering wheel is mandatory.

B. Quick steer is optional. No chains or sprockets allowed in steering system except D & M quick steer.

C. Steering left of drive train only. This means drive shaft!

D. Bump steer cannot be adjusted. Center link, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, cannot be altered. May use replacement sleeves.

E. Power steering is allowed. Must be belt driven and mounted in front of motor. Steel pumps only.

F. No rack and pinion steering. Stock OEM steering gear box must be used. May not be moved. Shimming okay for damaged frames.

G. Idler arm must remain in stock location.

SUSPENSION:

A. No traction control of any type!

B. Upper control arm brackets may be moved for caster and camber adjustment. Cannot move lower A-frames. This is on front end suspension.

C. Must use stock upper and lower control arms and brackets. Upper mounts may be modified, but must remain stock material. No stops for A-frame travel of any kind.

D. Upper and lower control arm bushings may be after-market.

E. Sway bars (may be removed) and brackets must remain stock. Bushings may be after-market.

F. Racing springs are allowed. Steel only. No coil-overs. No jack bolts allowed. Ride height can not be under 3" on corner of frames at bends.

G. Adjustable spring buckets are allowed. May drop rear spring buckets as long as they are in stock location. Maximum length of rear springs will be 16 inches.

H. Spindles and rotors must remain stock for 1978 - 1987 metric frame with 108" wheelbase. Ball joints must remain stock appearing (may be welded in bottom). No grinding or lightened parts. Bolt on spindle savers are legal. Upper ball joints must bolt in stock holes. Above or below okay.

I. No welding on spindles. Reaming spindles for ball joints okay.

J. No drilling cooling holes in rotor. 5/8" studs are allowed in any bolt pattern.

K. All four rear trailing arms must retain stock arms for metric frame used. Must remain stock in length. Must not  compress or lengthen. Arms may be boxed or strengthened. After-market bushing may be used. No spherical or ball bearing or Timken bearings anywhere on cars suspension.

L. No suspension parts may be altered or lightened.

M. No aluminum parts allowed, other than bushings.

N. Each trailing arm must have bushings installed.

O. Lower A-frame mounts may be notched for clearance.

P. Rubber spring spacers allowed. No aluminum or metal of any kind. This means the ones that go between spring coils.

SHOCKS:

A. Shocks must be steel. Must use stock type shock ends.  May weld or screw shock ends on shocks.

B. The stock shock frame mounts must be used in the original stock location. This means you must use stock holes to mount shocks. (Hints: This includes rearend mount and lower A-frame mounts.)

C. One shock per wheel. May use spacers when mounting shocks.

D. Air shocks not allowed.

CHASSIS

FRAME:

A. Frame cannot be cut, bent, or altered to change suspension brackets, except upper control arm brackets on front end.

B. Front frame horns can be cut off in front of the steering box and idler arm.  Tire clearance may be cut and plated where frame curves back in front.

C. Rear frame rails may be cut off behind upper shock mounts.

D. Replacement may be made with round, square, or rectangular tubing.

E. Front frame may be cut for radiator clearance.

F. Frame may be cut for seat clearance.

G. You cannot cut holes in frame to lighten it. Rust may be removed in front of lower rear trailing arms and cleaned up on body mount holes.

H. Frame cannot be widened , narrowed, shortened, or lengthened.

I. Cross member mounts on frame for transmission may be removed, but cannot be father forward than welds on frame. Small lips on lower side of frame rails may  be trimmed.   

J. If weights are used for ballast, weights must be painted white and number of car must be on weight. No mercury ballast or any similar type of ballast may be used. All weight must be securely fastened. Loss of weight will be cause for disqualification.

ROLL CAGE:

A. Main roll cage must consist of continuous hoops not less than 1-1/2 X .095. All welds must be complete. No brazing or soldering. No part of main cage may extend forward past rear motor plate. The main roll bar must not attach to the frame rearward of front edge of the rear tire.

B. Main roll bar and halo must be a minimum of 1" above the drivers helmet.

C. A minimum of three [3] driver door bars and two[2] passenger side door bars is required.

D. Four [4] bars, two [2] per side, may extend from the main roll cage to the points on the main frame in front of the upper control arms. These bars may have two additional braces per side to the main frame.

E. Six[6] bars may extend from the main cage to the rear. X bracing is allowed

F. Door plates are mandatory- at least 4"x12". (hint: this can save your life)

G. Cages must be steel or chrome moly.

NERF BARS:

One single nerf bar between the front and rear wheels on each side of the car is allowed. One nerf bar protecting rear quarter panels okay. Maximum size= 1-1/2 x .095. They are to be attached to the cage at the front and rear sections of the nerf bar. No center supports are allowed on the nerf bar. Nerf bars may not be outside of tires. All bumpers and nerf bars must be capped.

WINDSHIELD BARS:

Minimum of three(3) windshield bars 5/16" in diameter is required. Must be mounted in front of the driver.

TIRES:

Hoosier 500 only or Hoosier asphalt take offs only. ARA can deem any tire legal or illegal at their discretion. grooving is okay. siping is not allowed. (this means by razor or anything similar).

WHEELS:

A. only steel 15"x18" wheels  are allowed. R.R. bead lock is allowed.

B. No wheel spacers allowed with stock studs. any offset wheel allowed. 5/8 studs are allowed. wheel spacers may be aluminum.

C. 1" diameter lug nuts are required.

D. Wheel adapters will be treated as spacers and may be aluminum. 1-1/2 maximum on spacer.

COOLERS:

Transmission fluid coolers are not allowed in drivers compartment.

UPHOLSTERY:

A. No upholstery allowed other than drivers seat cover.

B. No plastic in drivers compartment.

BODY:

A. You can be original on your bodies, but stay within measurements on diagram. (see diagram)

B. Roof rear sail panels are allowed one 90 degree bend along the top edge of the sail panel. but must be less than one inch wide. gremlin style roofs okay. spoiler (lexan or aluminum) on roof can be no more than four inches tall. roof must be aluminum or fiberglass. no lexan roofs.

C. No more than six inches of total rake allowed on the body deck. a maximum of three inches of rake (of the six inches total) is allowed in the door section. if you keep the door section level then you are only allowed three inches of rake in the quarter panel section.

D. Lexan in sail panels or deflectors on front windshield post okay.

E. Plastic body panels and plastic filler panels are allowed on bottom of doors and quarters. (5" maximum width)

F. Convertibles are optional. sail panels can not be used with convertibles.

G. Cars must have a full deck interior from one side of the body to the other. decks must be aluminum or sheet metal.

DOORS AND QUARTER PANELS

Quarter panels must be approximately 90 degrees to the ground with a maximum of a 45 degree bend four inches from the bottom of the doors and quarters and two inches on top. doors and quarters must be aluminum or sheet metal. if doors and quarters go above the deck on front you can have no more than seven inches above deck on front and seven inches above rear deck. it is strongly recommended that you use lexan above deck( you will have better vision). you cannot take lexan below the deck. doors and quarters will be measured from top of lexan to bottom of doors and must not exceed width limits. if lexan is used it must no exceed seven inches wide in front and seven inches wide in rear and can be no longer than the length of the body. doors and quarters can be one piece.

FIRE WALL

Must be metal or aluminum with minimum sized holes for throttle etc. fire wall must be sealed from engine compartment.

FLOOR:

Must be metal or aluminum. must cover entire drivers cockpit to front edge of seat.

BUMPERS:

A. (2) two bar front bumper is mandatory maximum 1-1/2 x .095

B. One single bar rear bumper is required maximum size (1-3/4 x .095). the required fuel cell protection(1-1/2 x .095) may be attached to the rear bumper.

HOOD:

A. Must cover completely the top of engine and radiator.

B. Must extend from the nose piece to the deck.

C. Hood may be metal, aluminum, or fiberglass.

D. Hood must provide a seal to the top of the engine compartment

E. Cannot cover side of engine more than 8"

F. Hood scoop OK. Hood and nose piece can be one piece.

SPOILERS:

Rear spoiler is allowed with a maximum of material of 15" measured along the spoiler from the deck to the top, NOT straight up and down. A maximum of four(4) braces are allowed, one on each side measuring a maximum of the angled height of the spoiler X 24" long. Only one spoiler is allowed except for gremlin roofs. Gremlin roof spoiler can be no more than 4" and supports on each side cannot go further forward than 6". Aluminum or lexan OK. Spoilers may not go beyond back bumper. If spoiler is more than 7", you must use lexan above that for vision purposes.

DRIVER RESTRAINT SYSTEM:

SEAT:

Aluminum racing seat with right side rib protection is required. A seat that provides both right and left side protection is recommended. Seat must be securely mounted. The racing seat must be bolted to a reinforced cross member and bracket(s). This cross member must be welded to the ROLL CAGE, not just the floorboard. The back of the seat must be supported and bolted to a flange that is connected to the cage.

SEAT BELTS:

Racing type 5 point seat belts are mandatory. Must be approved 3" wide shoulder straps, lap belts and a minimum of 1 - 2" sub strap. All seat belts must be securely attached to the roll cage or seat cross member and not to the floorboard. Seat belts must be in good condition.

WINDOW NET

Window net is mandatory. It may be mesh or web style. Sprint car cage net is allowed. A quick release window net system must be used. (Hint: Seat belt tabs work well for this)

 HELMET:

Must be an approved racing helmet in good condition. At track discretion. (Hint - what is your head worth?)

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING:

Driver suit (fire suit) mandatory. May be one or two piece, must be complete and be of fire resistant material and in good safe condition. Fire resistant gloves recommended. Shoes optional.
