When the Cowtown Midget Championship joined the traditional February Fast 50 line up in 2009, the result was an incredible field of 252 race teams converging upon the ¼ mile high banks. The 2010 edition of the event, presented by City Vending, National Health Care Advisors and Sunoco Race Fuels will take place on February 12-13, 2010 and will certainly provide a weekend of wild racing action once again. The full-blown midgets will compete for $1,000 to win on Friday and $3,000 to win on Saturday. Each of their feature events will start 24 cars. Continue reading »

Kennedale TX (1/29/10) by DarinShort.com. In just two weeks from today, approximately 200 race teams will fill the pits and take to the high banked ¼ mile dirt track of Cowtown Speedway when a triple-header weekend kicks off the 2010 race season.

The 2nd Annual Cowtown Midget Championship presented by City Vending, National Health Care Advisors and Sunoco Race Fuels will take place on February 12-13, 2010; and will certainly provide a weekend of wild racing action once again. HOUSTON, Texas (Jan. 7) – Officials from the United States Modified Touring Series have announced the 2009 schedule of events for the USMTS Southern Series with a slate of more than 30 shows on tap as the USMTS embarks on a fourth straight season of competition for the premier dirt modified drivers in the South.

With many returning events as well as exciting new venues, 30 dates are currently reserved at 14 top-notch dirt track facilities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.

The season will start with some unfinished business from the 2009 season with the 3rd Annual Texas Winter Nationals at the Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 18-20. Due to snow and bitter cold in the Houston area during the first weekend in December, the remaining two nights of the event were canceled after the completion of Thursday night’s action. The event was postponed to become the kick-off event for the 2010 season and a true winter-time tilt. Continue reading »

By David Smith – Midwest City, Oklahoma – December 15, 2009 – The office and staff of the O’Reilly National Championship Racing Association have announced that Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas now has official driver registration forms available for the annual February Fast 50, this year sanctioned by the O’Reilly/NCRA and will be the opening points race for the Oklahoma modified division for the 2010 race season.

This $2000 to win, $400 to start twenty-four car feature finale event will take place on Friday and Saturday night, February 12-13, 2010. Reservations and payment can be made online on the tracks website http://www.cowtownspeedway.com/midget.html. By David Smith – Midwest City, Oklahoma – November 30, 2009 – Officials with the O’Reilly Auto Parts/National Championship Racing Association and Cowtown Speedway in Kennedale, Texas promoter Bo Rawdon have announced that the tracks annual February Fast 50 for modifieds, scheduled for Thursday-Saturday night, February 11-13, 2010 will be sanctioned by the Wichita, Kansas based series and will be the opening points race for the series Oklahoma modified division. The event will also kick off the 40th anniversary season for the series that sanctions races for not only the Oklahoma modified division but late model, 360 sprints, modifieds and southern modifieds as well.

It will be the series first ever appearance at the ‘lil quarter mile dirt oval near Fort Worth and the first “Lone Star” state appearance for the series since their sprint car division competed at Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo back in 2001. Rawdon, who has revived the 46 year old facility with upgrades, produced a strong weekly show and numerous specials for sprint cars, micros and modifieds, is a former NCRA late model winner at I-30 Speedway in Little Rock, Arkansas back in 1986.
