Dinsmore Does Daily Double in Debut(of new car)

It didn’t take long for Kerrville’s Greg Dinsmore to find the set up on his new Harris chassis and return to early season form. After a month and a half of construction, waiting for parts and motor work Dinsmore debuted his new ride hot lapping mid week and parlaying that into a win Saturday night on it’s maiden voyage. Though with a support team of Bob Harris, multi-time Super Nationals winner John Logue and veteran IMCA hot shoe Jimmy Gustin you’d expect nothing less. Continue reading »

Kennedale, Tx.,(July 24th, 2010) Kennedale Speedway Park was the site for another round of weekly racing action on the semi-banked, ¼ mile dirt oval. The weekly series includes the IMCA Modifieds, Southern Sportmods, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks, plus the Street Stocks, Crate Models, Racesaver 305 Sprint Cars, Jr. Mini Stocks and an added attraction this weekend, the Lone Star Dwarf Cars.

The nights off track activities were highlighted by a tribute and prayer for ASCS Sprint Car drivers Travis Rilat and Wayne Johnson, both injured on the west coast, and the memory of Tyson Perez, crew member of Rilat who succumbed to injuries from a shop accident. Racesaver Sprint Car drivers passed the helmet through the stands taking up collections to help cover medical expenses.

On the track the Lone Star Dwarf Cars saluted Lori Palanza a long time official who lost her battle with cancer. The Dwarf Cars all flew the pink “Say No To Cancer” ribbons for the feature fittingly won by her son Dominick Palanza.

Pleasanton, Tx.,(April 24th, 2010) After a scheduled week off, which was probably a good thing after rains soaked the track, racing resumed at Pleasanton’s I-37 Raceway Saturday evening under sunny skies. Several new drivers showed up making their first appearance on the 1/4 mile, semi-banked clay oval just south of San Antonio.

There was plenty of action throughout the night with two cars taking tumbles, and two new first time winners. During intermission James Blaylock, still trying to shake down a new car, rolled over the turn 3 hill in hot laps. Blaylock rebounded to finish third in the main. Roy Easler clipped an infield tire while battling for the Front Runner lead and ended up on his roof. He was able to climb out uninjured. Continue reading »
